The Seminole Police Department is the Primary Law Enforcement Organization for all Seminole Tribe of Florida Trust Private Properties. SPD is comprised of dedicated men and women, which includes sworn, civilian, and part-time staff. All Police Officers are Florida State Certified and meet the requirements stipulated by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The Seminole Police Department has law enforcement jurisdiction over seven Reservations: Hollywood (Broward County), Big Cypress (Hendry County), Immokalee (Collier County), Brighton (Glades County), Fort Pierce (St. Lucie County), Tampa (Hillsborough County), and Coconut Creek (Broward County). This combined area is approximately 90,000 acres.
Seminole Police Department is divided into two bureaus: Operations Bureau and Administration & Support Bureau. The Operations Bureau consists of a Patrol and the Professional Standard Division throughout all seven locations. The administration & Support Bureau consists of the Training Division, Logistics, Human Resources, Records, Criminal, and the Investigation Division which consists of the Criminal Investigations Unit and Homeland Security.
The Seminole Police Department is a full service professional police organization that operates twenty four hours a day on all seven reservations. Annual Leave Accrual:
0-5 years (4 hours accrued bi-weekly); 5 or more years (5 hours accrued bi-weekly).
Sick Leave Accrual:

Allowances:
$75 a month for Uniform allowance to all non-exempt sworn employees, and $90 a month to exempt sworn employees. $125 a month Wellness pay to all sworn employees. Salary incentive paid depending on education and courses
taken.
Life Insurance:
$200,000 policy included for an Officer.
Vehicle:
Limited take-home car program. Within certain number of miles from the reservation. Work related only.

The Low Premium Plan is offered along with an HSA (Heath Savings Account). The Low Premium Plan offers options for Medical, Prescription Drug, Dental, and Vision Coverage for all enrolled full-time employees and their eligible dependents. 401K:
A Full-time employee may become a participant after completing 60 days of service. A Part-time/temporary/seasonal employee that works less than 1,000 hours in a year may become a participant after completing one year of
service. Enrollment is automatic at 6% employee contribution. The Tribe matches 100% of the first 4% (Maximum) of an employee’s contribution.
Step Program:
We have an 8 year step pay program, with longevity pay at year 12 and year 14. There is a 5% increase with each of the 8 steps.
